33% of us are lonely.

You all stand and laugh

Smile

Hearts on faces

Glowing eyes, glowing lips.

I sit in the darkness

Scrolling

Watching

Seeing you

You don't see me.

Research by Statista found that worldwide, 33% of adults experience feelings of loneliness. A third of people admit feeling lonely at some point in their lives. The figures vary with 50% of people in Brazil saying they felt lonely. It is likely that all of us feel lonely at some times in our lives, but those feelings may be fleeting. But for others, loneliness can be a daily feeling.
