"In the room the women come and go

Talking of Michelangelo."

The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock

Inspired by Prufrock

This month, we have created images and stories inspired by the poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot.

It is a monologue written by an older man. The words of this poem speak of isolation and boredom and loneliness.

In January, we followed the theme of loneliness, but this month, we want to expand on this.

Our thoughts, comments, images and poems during this month are our own. They are not based on literary theories or other people’s ideas of what the poem means.

The aim of the Unease Project is to encourage people to express their thoughts and feelings through photography and creative writing. Not all of us find it easy to share how we feel with others verbally, so expressing ourselves in this way can be useful for many people.

It is important to remember that there is no right and no wrong here. We look at an image, a poem, a word and use that to inspire us.

Our photo or poem or story or song does not have to be the same as everyone else’s. It should be what we are inspired to write or photograph.

So, write what you want. Photograph what you want.

Express your thoughts and feelings through photography and writing. Or even art, song writing, craft or more.
